This versatile and flexible group is based on a string ensemble but also includes wind, brass and piano in any combination, from duos to octets and beyond. The players are drawn from some of the major chamber ensembles and orchestras in the UK, including The London Mozart Players, The Guildhall String Ensemble, Ensemble 360, The Irish Chamber Orchestra, the Dante and Tippett Quartets and the Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique.

The Chamber Players are very keen that music is presented within its social and historical context and present each of the pieces in every performance with lively and interesting spoken introductions.

The Chamber Players have performed at Holywell Music Rooms in Oxford, Imperial College Lunchtime Series, Chichester Festivities, Buxton Festival, Ilkley Town Hall, Studio Music, Music at Dingley and Bromley and Bournemouth Music Societies. They have also taken part in an inaugural chamber music weekend at Borgo di Colleoli Italy.

Future plans include concerts at York University and several UK Festivals and also their own chamber music weekend to include concerts, masterclasses and family events.

Sarah Butcher, cello and Artistic Director. Sarah is a cellist in the London Mozart Players and has also performed with the Mainardi Piano Trio and Guildhall String Ensemble. She formed The Chamber Players in 2006.
